Desks are pushed up against the glass
When the chain hangs behind a row of monitors, someone leans across a desk every afternoon. Ask for the chains on the aisle side, or for a motor where neither side is in reach.

Office blinds
Readable screens, private meeting rooms
Made to measure in our workshop
Price on visit
If your Dubai office keeps its blinds shut and the lights on all afternoon, sunscreen office blinds are the usual fix. Their open weave lets daylight in and dims the sun before it reaches a screen. That weave can't make a meeting room dark enough for a projector. We make every blind to measure in our own workshop.

We fit blinds in offices, warehouses and hotel apartments as well as homes.
When the chain hangs behind a row of monitors, someone leans across a desk every afternoon. Ask for the chains on the aisle side, or for a motor where neither side is in reach.
A glass tower across the street can reflect the sun into a north-facing office at certain hours. That glare usually needs the same sunscreen as a west window. Note when it starts and which desks it hits.
A blind that sticks or sheds slats usually needs only a part at the top. If the blinds came with the lease, ask the landlord before replacing any, and replace sun-faded ones a side at a time so they match. We repair blinds bought elsewhere too, after talking the job through by phone; a repair call-out is charged.
Ask for a schedule with one line per window: size, fabric, openness and control. The consultant can check it against the drawings, and two quotes laid out the same way compare line by line. Ours already prices each window separately, each part on its own line.

No single blind is best for a whole office. Choose space by space, by what each room must do at its busiest hour.

How the slats tilt
| Office space | Blind that usually suits | Why | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open-plan desks by the window | Sunscreen roller, one per window | Lowered only where the sun is | Light shows in the gaps between blinds |
| Meeting room with a screen | Dim-out (solid, no view) or blackout roller in side channels | Dims for a presentation | Light leaks at the sides without channels |
| Glass wall to the corridor | Roller fixed to the ceiling above | Closes the room to passers-by | Closed, the room looks shut off |
| Large or wide glass | Vertical blind, or several rollers | Slats can be turned as the sun moves | Opened, the slats stack over part of the glass |
| Reception, clinic or shop at street level | Day-and-night (zebra) blind | Solid bands close for privacy after dark | Won't darken the room |
| Private office or a study at home | Aluminium Venetian | Slats tilt light up, off the screen | Slats need regular dusting |
Every blind in this table is one we make to measure and fit.

Open weave
Seen through a charcoal sunscreen like this one, the street looks sharper than through a white one of the same openness.

Slats that turn
Turned against the sun, the slats keep most of it off the desks, and the rest falls in stripes.

Lowered as one row
Decide where each switch goes before you order: by a meeting-room door, or at the end of a row of desks. Tell us which other controls the office uses, from remotes and apps to Alexa, Google or Apple Home, and we recommend a motor to suit.
Screens wash out when the window around them is brighter than they are. In Dubai the sun shines for about 3,570 hours a year (Dubai Meteorological Office figures, 1977 to 2015). A blind dims the window, and its openness and colour set how much.
If a glass meeting room echoes, adding office curtains to the blinds can soften it. Our blinds page explains when a curtain, or both, works better.

Three sunscreen weaves
The Curtains Dubai measures every window in person, makes each blind in its own workshop, and sends its own team to fit it.

The bottom bar
Say whether the floor is in use or still being fitted out, and when the blinds must be up. Fit-out drawings, if you have them, show every window.
Ask whoever signs off the fit-out to join us, so choices don't wait for a second meeting. We work anywhere in Dubai and bring blind samples, so you judge each fabric against that side's light. A deposit confirms the order.
Fitting usually comes 3 working days after you approve, and later for a large or complicated floor. Count back from the day the blinds must be up, so you approve the order in time.
Clear the desks under the windows first. Once each blind is up, lower it fully: its bottom bar should clear sills, handles and screens. The measuring visit settles the fabric and openness for each side of your floor, and whether a motor is worth it.

Each blind is priced per m² of blind, made and fitted. Starting rates: a roller is 120, a vertical 110, a zebra 180 and an aluminium Venetian 90. Fabric choice sets each final price. A blind under 2 m² is charged as 2 m². Motors are priced on top; scaffolding for double-height glass is charged separately.
Your fit-out specification or building management will tell you, and may name the test a fabric must pass. We supply fire-rated blind fabrics on request, so mark each window that needs one on the schedule, with that test, before we quote.
Where the office or its building requires it, we fit in the evening, overnight or at the weekend, which can cost extra. Drilling beside desks stops work, so an empty floor suits everyone. Building management sets the hours and any permit. We arrange what it asks of us as the contractor; you obtain any NOC that must come from you.
A useful warranty names each part that can fail, with a period for each. We give 2 years on the working parts at the top and 2 years on our workmanship. Somfy motors carry a 5-year warranty, and Dooya and general Tuya motors 2 years. For any fault, you contact the salesperson who handled your order.
We call or message you on the number you gave to agree a day for the visit. Then we visit and measure every window. The visit and the measuring are free.
