If a window sits over the kitchen counter or by the bath, roller blinds are the practical choice in a Dubai home. In bedrooms and living rooms, a roller often works behind a curtain. A wide sliding door is better served by a curtain. Each blind is made to measurements from our free home visit.

Screen glare, early sun, a strict landlord or an office?
Your baby wakes with the sunrise
Sunrise in June comes at about 5:30 am, straight onto an east window. Choose blackout fabric and a curtain in front to cover the edges, with no chain loop hanging loose.
Your landlord is strict about holes
Two small brackets usually hold a recess roller, fewer holes than a curtain track. We fix every blind with screws and don't fit clamp or press-in brackets, so get the landlord's permission to drill. Take the blind with you only if the next window matches.
You're fitting out an office floor
One sunscreen fabric on every window makes them all match, and a row of motorized rollers can share a switch. We take office, warehouse and hotel-apartment jobs, and fire-rated fabric is available on request. If the building only allows work out of hours, we fit in the evening or at the weekend, at an extra charge.

Made to cut glare: you keep a softened view of outside, and a closer weave suits a desk with a screen. After sunset, a lamp-lit room is visible from the flats opposite.
Dim-out
Daylight comes through as a glow, with no view either way. A pale one can show shadows when the lights are on.
Blackout
The cloth itself stops all light, so the room is only as dark as the fit at its edges.
Roller blind or curtain: which suits each window?
In a Dubai apartment, start with a roller: it sits close to the glass, so the wall either side of the window stays free.

Which control, and one fabric or two?
We make rollers in sunscreen with several openness levels, dim-out, blackout and PVC, open or in a cassette, with side channels where the edges need closing.

Where does light get round a roller blind?
Light gets round a roller blind at the top, down each side and under the bottom bar:
- Top: light spills over an open roll; a cassette covers it.
- Sides: in a recess, the brackets at the tube's ends keep the fabric short of the walls. Channels fixed down each side cover that strip; so does a blind fitted outside the recess.
- Bottom: resting the bar on the sill closes the gap under it.
For a bedroom, blackout rollers in side channels under a cassette cover the top and sides as closely as a blind can. If you'd rather have daylight and privacy from one blind, a zebra blind's striped fabric is the day-and-night alternative.
A recess roller leaves room for a sheer curtain on a track in front and stays clear of the counter at a window over the hob. On west glass, thermal curtains drawn across the roller keep out more of the afternoon heat than the blind alone.
For wide sliding glass, look at vertical blinds; for a window above head height, a motor instead of a chain. Other windows are covered in the rest of our blinds.
Renting? Dubai Law No. 26 of 2007 says a tenant must have the landlord's permission to alter the flat (Article 19). When the lease ends, the flat goes back in its original state, apart from ordinary wear and tear (Article 21), as reported by Khaleej Times.

How is a roller blind priced?
Type the width and height of your window, and the calculator prices its area at our roller starting rate, which covers making and fitting. A small window is charged at the 2 m² minimum, and a motor comes on top. The fabric you pick and the sizes measured at your free home visit decide the final price.

Each window is measured where its blind will hang, and we settle the position with you. We work anywhere in Dubai and bring fabric samples, so you see each one in the room's own light. A deposit confirms the order.
Made in our workshop
We build every blind to those sizes in our workshop in Dubai. Fitting usually follows 3 working days after your approval; a large or complicated order takes longer. Give us any move-in date when you approve.
Fitting day
Brackets go up, each blind is levelled, and you try each one. Our workmanship, the blind's making and its mechanism each carry a 2-year warranty; fading from the sun isn't covered. Which fabric each room needs is easier to choose at the free home visit, once we've seen where the sun reaches each window.

How much do roller blinds cost in Dubai?
Quotes for roller blinds in Dubai come per square metre or per blind. To compare, work out the area: 150 × 160 cm is 2.4 m². Check whether each includes the cassette, side channels and fitting. Our rollers start at 120 per square metre of blind, made and fitted, on a 2 m² minimum; your fabric sets the final price.
What are the disadvantages of roller blinds?
A roller blind has four drawbacks: edge light in a recess, one fabric for view or darkness, chain wear, and gaps between blinds on wide glass. Side channels, a second roller, a spring or motor, or a curtain answer each in turn.
Do roller blinds keep heat out?
Lowered early, a roller blind cuts how much of the sun's heat builds up indoors; lowered late, it only slows the rise. A pale back on the glass side reflects more sun; a dark face on the room side cuts more glare. DEWA figures reported in 2019 put air conditioning at about 70% of a Dubai home's electricity bill.
Are roller blind chains safe with young children?
A loose chain loop puts small children at risk. Gulf News reported a three-year-old's death from a blind cord in Dibba in 2013. In a child's room, choose a spring, a motor or a chain kept taut at the wall. We fit child-safe controls on request, so tell us at the visit if a child uses the room.
How do you clean a roller blind?
Lower the roller blind and lift the dust off its flat fabric with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting. Dab a mark with a little mild soap on a damp cloth; scrubbing can damage a sunscreen weave or a blackout coating. PVC wipes down. Let it dry before you raise it.
Can I measure for roller blinds myself?
The easiest blind to measure yourself sits inside a recess. Note the width near the top, halfway and near the sill, and the height at both sides and the centre. We make to your sizes, with changes at your cost if they don't fit. If a blind we measured doesn't fit, we alter or remake it at no charge.
